Iranian Forces State Strike on US Base in Bahrain, During Regional Military Operations.

Iran's military claims to have hit a US naval base in Bahrain, as the country executed operations across the region in retaliation for a large-scale and continuing attack against it by the US and Israel.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an area near the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any destruction is not yet known and the United States has not commented.

Airspace Engagements

In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - all home to American military installations - said they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their airspace.

In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had intercepted a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was striking American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the offensive on Iran launched by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.

That US-Israeli operation - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on sites linked to the Iranian leadership, with President Trump urging the people of Iran to rise up against the leadership.

Regional Fallout

In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military stated it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The Ministry of Defence of the UAE said in a statement that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses engaged the projectiles with notable success and shot down a several projectiles," the statement continued.

Officials reported debris fell on a residential area in the capital, causing some property damage and the death of one civilian.

The United States Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
