Approximately twenty-five thousand homes in south-east Queensland woke up lacking electricity on the start of the week after powerful weather events swept through the area, producing powerful gusts topping 109 kilometers per hour.

Residents reported giant hailstones reaching sizes of seven centimeters in some areas. Weather authorities verified that various areas across Queensland had been impacted by significant hail.

Tomorrow was expected to become the heaviest precipitation period, with ongoing severe weather risk expected across different parts of both states.
